About Us

Running since 1925, The East Midlands Rugby Union Referees Society provides qualified and experienced match officials to facilitate safe and enjoyable rugby across the constituency. This covers the sub-counties of Huntingdonshire & Peterborough, East Northants, Bedfordshire and the Northampton and District Alliance; covering over 1700 games in a season for youth and adult rugby.

Match Official Development

Alongside ongoing assessment and training for active referees, the Society holds monthly Open meetings throughout the season and an Annual Conference in the summer. These are Open to All. As volunteer referees, we share and add to our knowledge and experiences.

Sign up for an enlightening day with the EMRURS team of Officials and Educators. The day includes active training sessions and previews of the upcoming seasons latest law changes and match official focus. Bronco tests and tea are also provided.

If a game is cancelled or moved for any reason, clubs MUST update the appointments team immediately (Chris Rowan and Nigel Boot-Handford).
